Migrant & Seasonal Head Start “La Escuelita” (The Little School)
The E Center Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Preschool Centers and Family Child Care Homes provide childcare free of cost to low income families that work in agriculture, produce canning, and packing plants.
Care is provided for children four weeks to five years of age.
The Preschool Centers and Family Child Care Homes are open 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, during harvest time (from April through November).
Our Teachers are highly qualified and receive continuous training in the best practices for the child development field. Our facilities are comfortable, pleasant, and safe so your child can enjoy a nurturing and healthy environment while you are at work.
Childcare and much more…
In addition to loving care, the children receive bilingual instruction, kindergarten preparation, nutritious meals, and services for the well-being of the entire family.
Health services include assistance in obtaining medical and dental services, child development assessments according to age, vision tests, hearing tests, anemia screenings, and follow-up of required vaccinations.
Children with disabilities have priority in receiving program services.
At our Preschool Centers and Family Child Care Homes, we celebrate and respect your child’s cultural heritage. The majority of our staff is bilingual in English/Spanish or in English/Punjabi, to assist your child in his/her home language. We have Preschool Centers and Family Childcare Sites in seven counties of Northern California, and receive applications year-round. Contact our Regional Office nearest you today for more information:
